K-6 Educate & Elevate: Children Stand up to Racism
Series Summary:
Building on the Sesame Street Town Hall “Coming Together: Standing up to Racism,” BGL presents a SEL series to give children an opportunity to talk about racism, and how we can come together to stand up to it. Acknowledging that these conversations can be difficult and sensitive, BGL will provide a safe, supportive space for children to learn and talk about racism.

As Elmo’s dad said in the Sesame Street Town Hall, “Racism is a big problem in our country.” Together, we can stand up to it and make the world more fair, kind and inclusive for everyone.

This is Episode 1 - Talking about Racism:
We will begin by establishing clear definitions of important vocabulary that was introduced in Sesame Street’s Town Hall “Coming Together: Standing up to Racism.” After reading a story, we will provide an overview of three ways to help end racism that will be explored in the remainder of the series: Educate, Intervene, Take Action.
