Resiliency is the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress. Resilience is the power to determine the outcome of your life in the aspects that you can control, modify and grow with. Becoming more resilient not only helps you get through difficult circumstances, it also empowers you to grow and even improve your life along the way.
This presentation will bring the lens of neurobiology to applying resiliency. It is normal to be affected by life challenges and our nervous system responds in particular ways. Understanding this helps us all to be more compassionate to ourselves and others. This topic will be explored in both an experiential and didactic format.
