Genetic haemochromatosis affects almost 1 in 150 people in England & Wales. In Scotland and Northern Ireland it's even more common - 1 in 113 people are affected.
Although many people have never heard of haemochromatosis, it’s actually the most common genetic disorder in the country – yet 90% of people don’t realise they have it.
