About the presentation: Since the earliest days of platelet-rich plasma treatment, dentistry has led the way in pioneering its diversity of patient-healing applications. Not long after the dental community embraced PRP’s exciting potential, the all-natural treatment has become increasingly commonplace across a variety of dental and non-dental procedures, including sports medicine and cosmetics. PRP is the process by which a patient’s own blood is separated into its constituent parts (platelet-rich and platelet poor plasma) separated via centrifuge. PRP can be converted into a membrane-like substance or injected in a wound site. In both cases the greatly increased platelet counts have been shown to rapidly decrease healing time with zero risk of bodily rejection.
This lecture is given by the co-discoverer of PRP who has over 25 years of experience. It is designed specifically for dental surgeons and will explain how to obtain PRP, how to use seven different forms of it, and provide an understanding of its biologic and clinical benefits – without all the commercial hype!
