Public comment is taken during the meeting at the indicated portion of the agenda, but advance signup is required. After completing the signup form, you will receive email instructions to log onto and/or call into Zoom.
Once connected to the meeting you will be auto-muted but will be able to view and hear the meeting. At the start of the public comment period, the Mayor will call speakers by name and you will be unmuted. You will have two minutes to speak.
You may address the City Council regarding items related to City business, including items on the Agenda. This is a LIMITED PUBLIC FORUM. So that the City Council can maintain impartiality and the appearance of fairness and comply with Washington State law, speakers will not be permitted to make public comments before the Council in the following areas:
• Agenda items for which the City Council either held a Public Hearing in the last 45 days, or will hold a Public Hearing within 45 days, or
• Where the public testimony may implicate a matter on which the City Council will be required to act in a quasi-judicial capacity, or
• Where the speaker promotes or opposes a candidate for public office or a ballot measure, or
• Where the speaker makes a personal attack on someone’s honesty, integrity, reputation or attributes protected under Washington State’s Law Against Discrimination.
