IFN: Becoming a parent in the insurance market
Fertility issues are likely to be affecting a significant number of employees in every workplace yet some employers are not fully recognising the impact this has on their business or providing adequate support.

The Insurance Families Network aims to create more inclusive and family friendly environments across the insurance sector. Co-Chair Cristina Galindo will be joined by Helen Beedham and Hema Ware from Fertifa’s UK Workplace Fertility Community who will talk about breaking down the taboo surrounding fertility issues and empower everyone to be proactive when it comes to reproductive health.

Helen Beedham is a writer, speaker and adviser with over 25 years’ experience in corporate workplaces and professional careers. Formerly a management consultant at Towers Watson then Director of Cityparents, she helps clients to bring about positive change in their organisations and their own careers. She is on the Steering Committee of the Workplace Fertility Community, advocating for better fertility support in the workplace and sharing her own experience of infertility.

Hema Wara left her 18-year HR career to dedicate more time to her personal fertility journey, which has been ongoing for over 10 years. She is now a Founding Member and Product Director of Fertifa – a digital fertility clinic and reproductive healthcare benefits provider with a mission to raise awareness of reproductive health in the workplace. Hema is also a Nutrition Advisor, nearing the end of her qualification to become a Nutritional Therapist and Naturopath with a specialism in women’s health and fertility.

Cristina Galindo is co-chair of the Insurance Families Network, a cross-market volunteer network with the goal of making the insurance industry family friendlier. Fertility awareness and fertility support are some of the topics the network covers in their support of modern families in the workplace. Cristina is Head of HR for one of the largest insurers in the industry.
