Part 2 of the series will build on the contextual knowledge shared in Part 1 and address how the project has navigated the challenges of the covid-19 pandemic. Large scale assessments across the country have been challenged by how to demonstrate that assessments and their results can be relevant and meaningful, despite the disruptions to instruction and learning. KĀ’EO is not immune to these challenges, but the project has been purposeful about building relationships with community stakeholders, which has enabled a more collaborative approach to addressing some of these issues. The goal of this webinar is to share some of the strategies that have been used by KĀ’EO, including the collection and dissemination of Opportunity to Learn data, to enable the community to make meaning and draw appropriate conclusions about assessment results. We hope to show that large scale assessment results that are coupled with contextual data around students’ opportunity to learn can help to facilitate collaborative conversations in schools and communities about supporting students through this pandemic and beyond.
