Indigenous rights and Canadian mining in Mexico
Isela González of the Sierra Madre Alliance and Neftalí Reyes Méndez of Educa Oaxaca will be speaking on the struggle for Indigenous rights and the impacts of Canadian mining on Indigenous communities in Chihuahua and Oaxaca.

This webinar will highlight:

– the experiences of the Indigenous communities of Coloradas de la Virgen (in Chihuahua) and San Jose del Progreso/Santa Catarina Minas (in Oaxaca) with Canadian mining companies

– the imperative to uphold the UN recognized Indigenous right to free, prior and informed consent

– what people in Canada can do to hold the Canadian government and Canadian mining companies accountable for the infringement of human rights.

Co-organized by Peace Brigades International-Canada and Amnesty International-Canada in collaboration with PBI-Mexico.
