Introduction to New Hampshire Genealogy

A survey of New Hampshire genealogy, focusing on the records most useful to each period of the Granite State’s 400-year history. Although the emphasis will be on sources that are free and available online, we will also discuss local resources and offer some tips on planning a research trip to New Hampshire.


Robert Cameron Weir is a genealogical researcher, lecturer, and author who lives in Dover, New Hampshire. He specializes in hard problems related to New England genealogy, from 1620 to the present. He is a member of the Association for Professional Genealogy and is the Publications Director for the New Hampshire Society of Genealogists.
