Dr. John Wesley Taylor
Associate Director of Education @General Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists
John Wesley Taylor V is Associate Director of Education for the Seventh-day Adventist educational system. Previously, he served as teacher and administrator at Montemorelos University (Mexico), AIIAS (Philippines), and Andrews University and Southern Adventist University (USA). He holds undergraduate degrees in religion and in health science, master’s degrees in educational administration and in instructional technology, and doctorates in curriculum and instruction, and in educational psychology and research. Areas of professional interest include the philosophy of Christian education, data-driven decision-making, spiritual leadership, and strategies for high-level thinking and for nurturing faith.
Dr. Andrea Luxton
President @Andrews University
Luxton’s career began in 1982 when she served as Head of English at Stanborough School in England. From 1986–1991, she worked as lecturer, senior lecturer and chair of the Department of English at Newbold College before serving the British Union as education director, women’s ministries coordinator and Sabbath School director until 1993. That year, she became principal at Stanborough School where she stayed until 1997. She then served as president of Newbold College for four years before becoming vice-president for academic administration and professor of English at Canadian University College, Lacombe, Alberta, Canada, in 2001. She became the president of Canadian University College (now Burman University) in 2006, following three years of work as the associate director of education to the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and executive secretary to the Adventist Accrediting Association.
Dr. Loren G. Agrey
President @Burman University
Dr. Agrey has served as President for Burman University in Lacombe since 2017. An earlier appointment on the Burman Campus included serving as Vice President for Academic Administration from 2004-2010. He has also served as President of Asia-Pacific International University in Thailand from 2010-2015 and as Academic Dean for Undergraduate Affairs at Kettering College in Kettering Ohio from 2015-2017. In 2005, Dr. Agrey received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education from the University of Alberta in Edmonton where his research focus was on the how social studies teachers experience teaching within the high-stakes environment of an externally-mandated examination. He completed his Master of Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi with an emphasis in secondary social studies in 1991. Dr. Agrey’s Bachelor of Education degree was granted by Union College in 1984 and was completed on the Burman University campus in Lacombe, Alberta.
