Networking to improve PROMs practice and collaboration in orthopaedics

Join us as we host a PROMs webinar on behalf of the National PROMs Network. The session will give an overview of the background of the network, details of current activity including the registrar EMPROVE audit as well as discuss the future of the network in working to improve outcomes data collection.
Speakers include-
• Anji Kingman, National PROMs Network Co-ordinator Clinical Outcomes Manager (Northumbria Healthcare NHSFT): The background and development of the National PROMs Network
• Sammy Davies, Quality Outcomes Manager (The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHSFT): The national audit, EMPROVE (Evaluating the Measures in Patient Reported Outcomes, Values & Experiences) is allowing further investigations into the variations in PROMs data from collection methods, what PROMs are collected, how the data is reported in trusts and benchmarking nationally
• Rebecca Lafferty, Outcomes Manager (Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) and National PROMs Network Co-ordinator: The Future of PROMs data collection and Collaboration- looking ahead to collaborative projects. Rebecca will be joined by Mr Ben Coupe, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon from Wrightington Hospital

She is also the project co-ordinator for the development of “openOutcomes”, an open standards, open source platform for the collection, recording and reporting of PROMs. Additionally, Anji is the PROMs and administrative lead for the UK Bone and Joint Infection Registry, and is a co-ordinator for the National PROMs Network. Recently, Anji has joined the UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics as an Associate member. Rebecca Rafferty (Outcomes Manager and National PROMS Network Co-ordinator @Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS FT) Rebecca has worked at Wrightington hospital for nearly 10 years and had various roles within the data collection department. More recently she has taken on the role of managing the outcomes unit based at Wrightington hospital. During 2020 she became more involved with the National PROMs network and developing this forum. Sammy Davies (Quality Outcomes Manager @The Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital) Sammy has worked at RJAH for 10 years now and has been in her current position of Outcomes Manager for 2 years. Sammy enjoys working with PROMs and being able to track a patient’s health and analyse the success of treatment through the data collected. Sammy has started a degree in data science to expand her knowledge and evolve the Trust’s PROMs reporting further.
