Black trans people are central to the fight for Black liberation. We can’t fight against anti-Blackness and white supremacy without fighting transphobia, homophobia, and the ways white supremacy upholds harmful gender policing and many forms of gender-based violence - including the epidemic of deadly violence against Black trans women and femmes.
When we build a world where Black trans women and femmes are safe and thriving, we build a world where every Black life matters.
Join The Movement for Black Lives for a webinar on Ending the War on Black Trans People. This webinar is the first in a series of Black August conversations around the recently relaunched Vision for Black Lives 2020, updated to reflect current conditions and a deepened Black queer trans feminist and disability justice analysis. Let's get into how we will more consistently and authentically work to end racialized ableism, transphobia, and patriarchal violence as part of our movement for Black liberation!
