Javier Romero, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S.
Chief of Surgery @Ventura County Medical Center
Dr. Romeo dropped out of high school and was passionate about cars and low riders. He subsequently decided to take some auto classes at Mt. San Antonio College and had to take a biology class and fell in love with Biology and Science after taking a biology class. After completing his AS in Biology and Engineering, he transferred to UC Irvine and completed in BS in Biological Sciences. He attended medical school at the University of California, Davis, and completed his residency and Chief resident in General Surgery at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Following his residency, Dr. Romero completed a fellowship at Los Angeles County USC in Trauma and Surgical Critical Care. He is certified through the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Romero is currently the Director and Chair of Surgery, Director of Critical Surgical Care Services and Co-Director of Trauma Medical Services for Ventura County Medical Center, and General Surgery Residency Program
