Using Historic Records in the Classroom: Consider the Source New York
ConsidertheSourceNY.org is a new online education resource from the New York State Archives Partnership Trust. The website provides access to thousands of primary sources and learning activities to help educators bring local historical records into their classroom. Local communities are filled with valuable, informative records that reflect the rich and diverse history of New York State. However, getting these resources into the hands of educators and students in a format that they can easily incorporate into the curriculum is often challenging. Join us to learn how you and your organization can make your records more accessible to educators and students.

Jordan Jace
Assistant Director of Education and Development @Archives Partnership Trust
Jordan Jace is a researcher, writer, project manager, and educator. Jordan has extensive knowledge and familiarity with using historical resources (documents, artifacts, historic sites, etc.) for educational purposes. Their work experience includes 6 years as a professional archaeologist, working in Albany, NY and Williamsburg, Virginia, and 4 years as a secondary Social Studies teacher. In addition, they have undergraduate and graduate degrees in history, anthropology and historical archaeology, and New York State teacher certification in adolescent social studies education. Jordan is also the statewide coordinator for the New York Council for History Education (NYCHE), the New York State Archives Student Research Awards Program, and the newly launched ConsidertheSourceNY.org Diversity and Collaborative Knowledge Project.
