#PrisonersToo: Incarcerated Survivors Speak Out
Please join us for the launch of #PrisonersToo, Just Detention International’s new campaign to support incarcerated survivors’ participation in the #MeToo movement.

Since going viral in 2017, the #MeToo campaign has helped countless sexual abuse survivors break their silence. Yet survivors inside prisons and jails have remained invisible, unable to use the social media platforms that made #MeToo a global phenomenon.

JDI's #PrisonersToo campaign gives incarcerated people a space to share their own #MeToo stories — and people like you the chance to support them.

During this event, you’ll learn about how JDI, artist Cathy Salser of A Window Between Worlds, and people living in two women’s prisons in South Carolina worked together to create #PrisonersToo, featuring an art installation through which incarcerated people can tell their stories to each other and to the outside world.

We will be joined by two incarcerated artists from South Carolina, who will share their individual journeys to healing and discuss why this project matters. You’ll also have an opportunity to contribute your own message to #PrisonersToo, through JDI’s dedicated #PrisonersToo webpage.
