Pearl S. Buck and China (赛珍珠与中国)
Pearl S. Buck (1892 - 1973) was an American author, civil rights and women's rights activists. She spent most of her first 40 years in China. Her book on the Chinese farmers, Good Earth, was a best seller in 1931 and 1932 and won Pulitzer Prize. The movie adapted from the book won several Academy Awards in 1937. Buck was the first American women author to win the Nobel Literature Prize in 1938. In 1942, Pearl and Richard founded the East and West Association, dedicated to cultural exchange and understanding between Asia and the West.
