Lunch & Learn: While Every Emergency is a Crisis, Not Every Crisis is an Emergency

The Local Impact Broome County’s 911 Diversion Program and MHAST’s Crisis Respite House and Mobile Crisis Team Have Had on Diverting People from Emergency Room Visits.

In our first Lunch & Learn Session for 2021, Michael Hatch, retired police lieutenant from the Johnson City Police Department and current Director of Crisis Services for MHAST (Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier), will provide a dynamic overview of Broome County’s 911 Diversion Program, which was recently recognized as a best practice by the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) International organization. He will also provide a synopsis of MHAST’s Crisis Respite House and Mobile Crisis Team.
