Jeffrey Bender
eff Bender's fascination with cinema began during his pre-teen years with TVO's Saturday Night at the Movies hosted by Elwy Yost. On Saturday nights when kids were hitting the town, Jeff was spending his evenings with Bogart & Bacall, Barbara Stanwyck, Henry Fonda and the Marx Bros. Over the years, Jeff has attended film festivals and events from Rochester, NY to Rome, Italy and helped curate film programs at Kingston, Ontario's The Screening Room as well as moderating talks with authors and artists. For over a decade, his work finds him teaching courses around the world on the topic of communication sciences, however, the dialogue that is closest to his heart is about the movies. A newcomer to Hamilton these past 5 years, Jeff is enthused to meet fellow lovers of cinema in Steeltown through the Westdale Film Club series.
