As institutions continue to explore alternatives to international travel for global health electives, Child Family Health International (CFHI) has designed an excellent option! Through the Virtual Global Health Elective, offered in October 2021, February and March 2022, students continue to experience meaningful intercultural learning from multiple perspectives! The course engages international teaching faculty and students from around the world, enriching the class environment.
The Virtual Global Health Elective is designed for final-year health professions trainees (final-year medical, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, pharmacy, and allied health senior students, and resident physicians). The course is comprised of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (self-paced) components and offers the opportunity to develop global health competencies including low resource clinical reasoning, health systems design, cross-cultural effectiveness, and adaptability, Global Health ethics, critical reflection, and much more.
