Build Healthy Places Network and Shift Health Accelerator welcome you to join a virtual convening to advance a collective vision of healthy places and racial equity. The event will include Day 1 Plenary Session with keynote speakers on May 19th and Day 2 Session Tracks on May 20th. Day 2 has a separate registration link.
The purpose is to engage audiences across California and beyond to extend the reach and use of the recently published Healthy Neighborhood Investments Policy Scan and Strategy Map and to collaborate to identify state and local policy recommendations. The Policy Scan builds on the Thriving Together Springboard for Equitable Recovery and Resilience and identifies several policy actions for advancing health and racial equity through cross-sector investments and serves as a tool for community-owned priority setting that reduces inequities and strengthens neighborhood revitalization, with a geographic emphasis on California.
Featured keynote speakers include Angela Glover-Blackwell, Founder-in-Residence at PolicyLink; Kathleen Janus, Senior Advisor on Social Innovation for Governor Gavin Newsom; and Debbie Chang, CEO of the Blue Shield of California Foundation.
If you are a leader wanting to see policy reflect the needs and priorities of communities, or a member of a multi-sector collaborative, or a local elected official, or if you represent a policy think think tank, a health system, a community development organization, all of you are welcome at this convening.
