This session is co-sponsored by the ASCIP Clinical Practice Committee and Academy Research Committee:
Description: Pilot studies represent a fundamental phase of the research process. Despite the lack of attention paid to pilot studies, conducting them is crucial to informing researchers about the methodological and practical challenges of implementing a full scale clinical trial. Therefore, the purpose of this webinar is to provide accurate and practical information about conducting pilot studies in the field of spinal cord injury research.
Learning Objectives: The learning objectives of this workshop are to: (1) describe the purpose of conducting pilot research, (2) describe how pilot studies differ from feasibility studies, and (3) describe minimization techniques for randomizing participants in small studies.
Presenter: Kimberley R. Monden, PhD
