CDC Virtual Forum: Recommendations on Safe School Reopenings, COVID Testing in Schools, and In-School Mitigation Strategies
The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) is proud to partner with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on a virtual forum to hear directly from the CDC on its latest recommendations for safe school reopenings, COVID testing in schools, and effective in-school mitigation strategies. CDC experts will discuss, among other topics, recent guidance—“Indicators for Dynamic School Decision-Making”—which includes core indicators (community burden) and secondary indicators (mitigation strategies) and how these should be used when considering reopening schools for in-person instruction. The CDC has also released separate guidance on COVID testing in K-12 schools, and case investigation and contact tracing in schools. Finally, CDC experts will share the latest research on effective strategies to monitor and evaluate COVID mitigation strategies in schools to keep students and staff safe. CDC staff will discuss the following topics, which will be followed by a Q&A session:

• Indicators for dynamic K-12 school decision-making
• Testing in K-12 schools
• Monitoring & evaluation of mitigation strategies implemented in K-12 schools
• Mask in schools
• Holiday celebrations in schools

NAESP will send all registrants a copy of the webinar recording.
