In the wake of the pandemic, the work of Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) is being followed and recognised globally. It has been thrust into the limelight recently due to various challenges faced by industry stakeholders such as:
- demurrage and detention practices followed by shipping lines
- refusal by shipping lines to provide empty containers for exports out of USA
- continuous increase in freight rates
- severe delays faced by trade due to congestion in US ports
For further clarity on these industry issues and their implications, you are invited to a session by FMC Commissioner, Carl Bentzel, on Detention & Demurrage and Managing Port Operations, followed by a discussion with Hariesh Manaadiar, Founder, Shipping and Freight Resource.
