Marriage and the Public Good

In October 2022, the Witherspoon Institute published the second edition of Marriage and the Public Good: Ten Principles. The book brings together scholarship from economics, law, philosophy, and sociology to show why marriage—understood in the traditional manner of a durable, loving union of one husband and one wife—holds tremendous value for the public interest.

To celebrate the book's publication, please join Public Discourse for a webinar discussion with one of its authors, Amy Hamilton of the University of Texas at Austin. She will discuss the book's call for our nation's leaders and our fellow citizens to support public policies that strengthen traditional marriage as a social institution. Jamie Boulding, Associate Director of the Witherspoon Institute, will moderate the conversation.
