OBI is partnering with Workplace Change to provide a free, interactive, and high-quality training series on how to improve diversity in our workplaces. Over the course of the training series, we will examine the best and worst ways to recruit, support, and empower a diverse workforce. Training participants will leave aware of what effective leadership looks like, and feeling empowered to promote a healthy work environment, prepared to move to the next phase of optimal employee engagement, which are all critical for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce and a just workplace.
Session four is an honest discussion about the challenges with diversity in the workplace. Many leaders believe the hardest part of DEI is finding the talent. They are mistaken; the hardest part of DEI is when historically underrepresented staff arrive at the workplace and all parties must adjust. During session four, participants will have the opportunity to candidly discuss implicit biases, dominant culture and microaggressions.
