Inclusion Changes What's Possible: Increasing Diverse Participation in Computing by Mitigating Biases and Barriers
presented by NCWIT in collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium Women in High Performance Computing (RMACC WHPC) Chapter

This presentation explores the biases and barriers that often impede diverse participation in computing and identifies key features of strategic, research-based approaches to address them. Attendees will also receive an overview of NCWIT programs and resources with a focus on an approach to building inclusive corporate cultures, fostering stronger technical teams, and enhancing technical innovation.

NCWIT is a non-profit community of more than 1,400 universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations nationwide working to increase the influential and meaningful participation of girls and women — at the intersections of race/ethnicity, class, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and other historically marginalized identities — in the field of computing, particularly in terms of innovation and development.

The RMACC WHPC Chapter was formed in alignment with the international WHPC organization, with the shared vision of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and increasing the participation of women in the high performance computing (HPC) field by building and leveraging a diverse workforce.
