End Justice Fees Campaign Launch
On Thursday, October 6th, a bipartisan coalition spearheaded by the Fines and Fees Justice Center, Americans for Prosperity, and the ACLU is launching the End Justice Fees campaign — the first national campaign committed to eliminating fees in the justice system and discharging their associated debt.

From right, left, and center, a growing number of policymakers and advocates have come to see fees for what they are — a hidden tax disproportionately levied on low-income communities and communities of color.

These hidden taxes can add up to thousands of dollars, and those who cannot afford to pay can be stripped of their freedom to work, drive, and provide for their families. A single missed  payment can lead to arrest and even jail.

Join us for the virtual launch of the End Justice Fees campaign on Oct. 6 at 2pm (ET). You'll hear directly from advocates on the ground as they share how they’re building — and winning — state and local fee elimination campaigns across the US. You'll also be able to learn about the harmful impacts of fees from justice system stakeholders and people directly affected by fees.
