As part of the London Climate Action Week series of events, Ethex is hosting an interactive webinar that focuses around ways that everyday people can use their money to directly fund scalable businesses and organisations, rooted in the communities that they serve to help build a fairer and more sustainable future.
Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we have seen amazing examples of communities working together for good. We want to showcase innovative examples of grassroots community organisations and social enterprises who are working towards a more sustainable future focusing on these key areas for a green recovery in the UK:
Community-owned and generated renewable energy projects
Electric Vehicle clubs and infrastructure providers
Sustainable and affordable housing cooperatives and
Local and sustainable production of good food.
We will discuss some of the practical approaches that community organisations play in supporting the UK’s Green Recovery and how these can be replicated around the country. And we’ll look at the critical role that investors play in funding these organisations to drive the transformational change that 91% of people across the UK want to see as we look to supercharge the economy and build back better. We’ll discuss the degrees of building back better and the benefits of direct vs indirect investment to tackle climate change.
