Join us for a unique and first hand presentation on how charitable and philanthropic giving can best achieve its goals of delivering resources to the right programs, at the right time. Dr. Adam Falk comes to us from the world renowned Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, one of the nation’s pre-eminent not-for-profit grantmaking institutions supporting high quality, impartial scientific research.
As President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and earlier as President of Williams College,
Dr. Adam Falk has been a driving force in determining how philanthropic funding is most efficiently directed. He has deep experience in developing strategies to attract funding from wealthy donors and foundations; as well as creating imaginative and effective ways to deploy charitable and philanthropic giving to ventures that present the best chances of success.
Dr. Falk will offer examples from his own work at the Sloan Foundation, including the new initiative called the Science Philanthropy Alliance. In his own words, ”Philanthropy will play a critical role in shaping the conduct of science over the coming decades. Getting it right will require adopting practices that further the scientific enterprise while simultaneously seeking to benefit society as a whole.”
After Dr. Falk’s remarks he’ll take your questions.
