Experienced gardeners know healthy soil is the key to successful gardening. But, not many truly understand how soil pH shapes plant growth.
The Scoop on Soil explains soil pH and how it affects availability of soil nutrients. This is particularly important to gardeners who grow vegetables and blueberries.
This class will cover how to get your soil tested and what you can do to modify soil pH.
Participants will also learn the 3 major soil textures and how to determine what is in their own garden.
This 30-minute class will be followed by a moderated Q&A session.
Our speaker Sherry Holley is an Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener who teaches for the award-winning 10-Minute University™ Program. She and her husband subsistence farm their home garden and plots at a community garden.
