Virtual Levy Lecture Series: Chicago's Fire
Mrs. Cate O’Leary and her cow have long been accused of igniting the fire which destroyed Chicago in 30 hours. The Great Chicago Fire of 1871, was an inevitable result of mud, wood, drought, bad luck and a willful relentless wind. A forty-year old city build mostly of wood was burned to ash. Yet, like the Phoenix of old, the city of Chicago was rebuild from ashes by hardy folk with vision, generosity and imagination.

Megan Wells is a nationally touring, award winning storyteller and actress. Inducted in 2016 into the National Storytelling Networks Circle of Excellence, Megan won the Oracle; a Master American Storyteller. Megan combines the worlds of storytelling with theater and is currently nominated for a Jeff Award in Solo Performance.
