Quilt History Projects That Hit Home, presented by the Quilt Alliance
Join QA director Amy Milne in conversation with two quilt historians who are following their passion to research quilts and makers in their home region. A’Donna Richardson a native of Tacoma, Washington, found quilting in her retirement and her interests quickly expanded to the study of quilts and their ties to America's social and cultural history. She is the founder of the Washington State African American Quilt Documentation Project (Quilts of Consequence). Lynn Lancaster Gorges is a textile conservator, restoration specialist and owner of Historic Textiles Studio in New Bern, North Carolina. Amongst her many areas of expertise, Lynn collects, researches and teaches about Alamance plaid quilts, native to her home state of North Carolina.
