Progressive Economic Policy Online Conference
Tuesday 26 May from 17.00 to 18.30 with:
Nadia Calviño, Spanish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation
Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Laureate, Columbia University
Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for Economy
Moderation: Maria João Rodrigues, FEPS President
This is the momentum to discuss progressive economic policy and join progressive forces to change the economic paradigm that in Europe gives priority to macroeconomic stability instead of socio-economic and political stability.
Nadia Calviño, Joseph Stiglitz and Paolo Gentiloni will participate in next FEPS COVID Response online conference, moderated by Maria Joao Rodrigues. They will debate what should be the socio-economic answers to the current emergency and will look at how the crisis changes the role of the state in the economy and how we have to develop new policies both for counter-cyclical response, as well as for a useful investment that can drive the different transformations that our society need.
This event is organised in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB), the Pablo Iglesias Foundation and the Macroeconomic Policy Institute (IMK) of the Hans-Böckler-Foundation.
