Extractives and climate change - Context and the changing policy landscape
This webinar will cover the economic governance risks and opportunities for resource rich countries in the face of climate change. Presentations will address big policy choices regarding extractives and climate change, such as showing the need to decrease fossil fuel production, the impact of climate-related financial risk on extractive sector policy, how to pursue a just transition for citizens and communities, and which minerals will be needed for the energy transition (and where they are found). Participants will leave the webinar with a clearer understanding of what this means for their work, developing a better understanding of the expected changes, challenges and opportunities that climate change represents for governance work in the extractives sector. This webinar will be offered in English with Spanish interpretation. It will be offered in French late June - stay tuned for more information.
