Questioning the purpose of UNHCR's Sri Lanka Accountability Project
Is it an attempt to undermine Sri Lanka’s efforts on accountability and reconciliation?
Sri Lanka has successfully eliminated the transnational Tamil terrorist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), who attempted to carve a mono-ethnic state in North and East Sri Lanka. After the LTTE defeat, LTTE sympathizers and non-governmental organizations on LTTE funds started campaigning against Sri Lanka. They have attempted numerous ways to attack and none were successful. They have utilized the UNHRC mechanism to fulfill their sinister objective, i.e., carve mono-ethnic state for Tamils in North and East. The UNHRC also acts beyond their mandate and continually adopts resolutions. These resolutions are undermined Sri Lanka’s effort on accountability and reconciliation with a unique approach to Sri Lanka founded on a restorative justice mechanism. This webinar explores the real purpose of the UNHRC's Sri Lanka accountability Project.
