Fairness to Freedom: Campaign for Universal Representation Launch Rally

It’s time.

Colleagues, friends, changemakers, it is our moment. The fight for universal representation has been gaining momentum, and we are ready to seize on it.

On Tuesday, April 26 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET, join together with a broad-based and diverse coalition of partners for a virtual rally to kick off our new campaign - Fairness to Freedom - to ensure every person facing detention or deportation has the right to federally funded and guaranteed legal representation.

Federally-mandated universal representation means every immigrant facing deportation would have a right to high-quality, full-scope legal representation, independent from political or judicial interference. It means the communities most affected would be directly involved in shaping the legislation, protecting Black and brown immigrants from disproportionate harm.

It is time for every person, regardless of where they’re from, to be treated humanely and fairly — to be fully seen, heard and represented — in our immigration legal system. Everyone should have someone to stand with them and fight for them when they have everything at stake. It's time for us to unite our movement and demand that Congress take action to make the fundamental promise of our democracy a reality for everyone.

It's time to instill dignity into our immigration process.
