Racism is a Public Health Crisis
The Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch and The Indianapolis Recorder will be hosting an educational forum on "Racism is a Public Health Crisis." As advocates in educating our community about issues the Black community faces, we commend you for your public stance in declaring the problem and pledging to create a "culture of inclusion" and to work toward reducing health disparities and inequities that so many African Americans face in their interactions with the Health Care System. We want the community to hear from our leading health officials in Marion County about the disproportionate outcomes in health practices that have put some members of our community at risk and caused you to join your colleagues in recognizing those concerns.

The Virtual forum is 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, and can be viewed at facebook.com/IndyRecorder and facebook.com/IndyNAACP. The Greater Indianapolis NAACP Branch and the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper sponsors this forum.

Joseph Tucker Edmonds, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Religious Studies and African Studies at IUPUI, and Marshawn Wolley, Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper Columnist, will serve as co-moderators for this powerful conversation.

Panelists are:
· Dr. Lisa E. Harris, CEO, Eskenazi Health
· Brian Mills, President and CEO, Community Health Network
· Dennis Murphy, President and CEO, IU Health Methodist
· Elizabeth Nelson, Assistant Professor and Medical Historian, Indiana University and Purdue University
