While the daily deliverable for Griffith Post School Options (GPSO) is positive ‘participant outcomes’ and for every interaction for this to be the underlying intent, this must be done in an environment where the risk to the general wellbeing of participants and staff is sufficiently mitigated.
By late 2019 GPSO participant numbers were rapidly growing. Growth and risk were heading for a clash! Does that sound familiar?
Who best to manage this risk at the frontline than the Frontline Leaders. Thus GPSO embarked on a development pathway for their Team Leaders through 2020.

Jo Montagner
HR/Policy Officer @Griffith Post School Options
Jo commenced at GPSO as a Disability Support Worker and after 12 months moved into the office as a Support Coordinator where she assisted families and Participants connect to services and utilise their government funding. From there Jo moved into policy development and Human Resources. She is now close to completing a double diploma in Leadership & Management and Human Resources. Jo absolutely loved working directly with Participants and found it very rewarding supporting them in their day-to-day activities. She finds it just as fulfilling indirectly assisting Participants through improving business operations and processes.
Brooke Wells
Team Leader @Griffith Post School Options
Brooke’s career commenced as an aged care nurse in a dementia specific ward in 2000. After having children, she changed fields to disability service commencing work at GPSO as a Disability Support Worker in 2017. Brooke believes she has found her niche at GPSO, with her strengths residing in mentoring and supporting high functioning Participants. Now as Team Leader, she develops and implements personalised programs to achieve Participant outcomes. Brooke loves the forever changing nature of GPSO – it is safe to say there are no two days the same.
Hannah Kelly
Team Leader @Griffith Post School Options
Hannah started her career in the beauty industry in 2006. Working in Griffith she would always see carers and Participants in the community and thought how rewarding and fulfilling a carer role would be. Hannah commenced volunteering at GPSO on a weekly basis until she was employed as a Disability Support Worker in 2015. She has been with GPSO since there were only 20 Participants and has experienced exponential growth and change over the years, now supporting over 150 Participants. Hannah is now a Team Leader for high needs Participants, where she oversees the delivery of support. She loves the contribution she makes in improving the lives of people with a disability
