West Hartford high school students will share their experience of becoming part of our community from different countries. What is their country of origin like? What brought their families here? What is challenging and what has gone well? Learn about their journeys and hear from school and community supporters how we can welcome newcomers, build relationships, and be of mutual support. Amanda Goeller, ESOL Family Outreach Coordinator, will moderate this panel discussion with Hall & Conard High School students, ESOL Curriculum Specialist Chalise Ross, and SAWA refugee community support member Carrie Berman. This program is co-sponsored by West Hartford Community of Concern, WHPS ESOL Department and SAWA.
