Come join Chuck and Dorothy Gates and Jeff and Donna Nordstrom as they take you with them on a
virtual journey to the mystical world of “Thailand and Its Birds”. Their goal is to provide information
and incentive for you to plan and execute your own trip to the Land of Smiles. The team will explain the
ins and outs of organizing a trip including securing guides or tours, travel information and other logistics.
They will tell you how they got there, what they did in-country, where they traveled, and what they
learned. The presentation will also include a video taken by the team of the incredible birds of Thailand
and end with a slide show on the culture, nature, points of interest and people of Thailand. Altogether,
they hope to relate their general opinion that Thailand is one of the best birding/cultural destinations on
the planet. After the show, they think you’ll agree.

Chuck and Dorothy Gates have traveled throughout the U.S. on birding adventures and list their favorite
locations as Magee Marsh (OH), SE Arizona, Rio Grande Valley, Salton Sea, Dauphin Island (AL),
Alaska and Maine. Their out-of-country birding adventures have included trips to Mexico, Honduras,
Belize, Ecuador (including the Galapagos Islands), the Caribbean, and of course, Thailand. Chuck is a
founding member of the East Cascades Audubon Society (formerly the East Cascades Bird Conservancy)
and is active in many ECAS projects. He is the creator and curator of the Birding Oregon Website and
the Co-creator of the soon to be released Central Oregon Bird Nests, Eggs, and Young website. Chuck
and Dorothy are both retired educators.

Jeff and Donna Nordstrom have also traveled throughout the US as well as birding internationally. In the
United States, favorites include Oregon, Hawaii, Arizona, South Dakota, California (Salton Sea) and
Virginia. Their overseas birding adventures have included trips to Thailand, Mexico, Italy, Costa Rica,
Belize, Ecuador (including the Galapagos Islands), Puerto Rico
