What is education's role in ensuring environmental justice in our community? A Virtual Town Hall
Join us for a panel discussion with local leaders to engage our community in a conversation on how environmental justice affects our students.

Since its inception, Dream in Green has been dedicated to providing quality education that supports all students, regardless of race, color, or income, to care for our environment. Bringing everyone in the decision-making process to the table, even students, results in a healthy environment in which to live, learn, and work.

The general layout of the event will be to provide an opportunity for students, teachers, parents, and others to understand this issue. We will elicit questions from our community and will encourage an open dialogue about accountability and impact. The event will be structured around these main questions:
1. What is Environmental Justice?
2. What role does a school/school district play in addressing inequalities? Why?
3. How does this impact students?
4. What is education’s role (primary/secondary/post-secondary) in ensuring environmental justice in our community?

Our panelists include:
Dan Gelber – City of Miami Beach Mayor
Daniela A. Tagtachian - Esquire
Tina Brown – CEO Overtown Youth Center
Sterling Laylock - Sustainable Development Consultant, Integrating Green Technologies
Barbara Martinez-Guerrero – Executive Director, Dream in Green

Please submit your questions for our panelists to barbara@dreamingreen.org.
