Allison Dubé works as a Project Manager at the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA). In this role, she supports MIRA’s researchers to build meaningful connections with community partners to ensure their research is informed by the real-world needs of end-users and stakeholders. She also supports undergraduate students to develop an interest in research on aging and build capacity in working with older adults. Allison completed her PhD in Canadian History at Queen’s University in Kingston. She is passionate about supporting trainees to participate in experiences that enhance their graduate education.

Samantha Sandassie is the Senior Manager, Education and Training, at AGE-WELL NCE. She has been pivotal in the development, delivery and evaluation of the EPIC program since the network’s inception in 2015. Prior to joining AGE-WELL, she completed a PhD at Queen’s University where she taught undergraduate courses in medical and intellectual history and was recognized for both teaching excellence and commitment to postsecondary education.

The SMRTS (Sharing Multi-network Resources for Trainee Success) Seminars Program is a professional development initiative between 14 research institute, national and provincial networks aimed at providing the best possible programming to our respective trainees.
