NAMC Holiday Event & Listening Session
This year, our holiday event is centered around continuing crucial conversations that began in NAMC-Oregon’s summer listening session on racism in the construction industry with nearly 400 attendees. This conversation has continued throughout NAMC’s subsequent events, including our leadership role over the last several months on contracting equity policy and procurement reforms, including the contractor coalition movement to change the industry’s discriminatory culture for black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities.

Our Holiday Event will be an expanded listening session and industry discussion (quarterly) on building a more inclusive workforce engaged in a meaningful working relationship between BIPOC-owned firms, majority-owned firms, and workforce development partners in the built environment.

This event will also introduce the contractor coalition mobilizing efforts to dismantle the status quo and create more systematic changes in the construction industry. NAMC-Oregon will host the panel discussion with support from AGC-Oregon to connect prime contractors, sub-contractors, professional services, and public agencies to opportunities and new industry relationships. This event also spotlights the great work NAMC-OR and affiliates are doing to renew collective focus and priorities going into next year.

Attendees will include our partners, members, industry stakeholders, mayors, councilors, commissioners, and directors from all local municipalities in the region, including community organizations active in racial justice will be invited to participate in this listening session. The entire session will be recorded for sharing and distribution with the public.
