Join a panel of former Knesset members: Nachman Shai (Labor), Einat Wilf (Labor/Independence party), Michal Cotler-Wunsh (Blue & White) Yehuda Glick (Likud).
The panel will be moderated by former Knesset member Dov Lipman and the event will be opened by Chairman of the Confederation of United Zionists David Yaari.
Keren Kayemet L’Yisrael (KKL) the Jewish National Fund, will be deliberating which areas it will purchase land in Judea and Samaria. The West Bank of the Jordan River, known as Judea and Samaria from biblical times, was in Jordanian hands from 1948-1967. During the Six-Day War, Israel gained control over the region and since that time, hundreds of thousands of Israelis have established homes in the area, mostly in three main “settlement blocs” - Gush Etzion, Maaleh Adumim, and Ariel.
This panel of former Knesset members will discuss the status of the land in the West Bank with a focus on the settlement blocs and the question of where KKL should purchase land to plant forests and build new Jewish neighborhoods in this region.
