Sustainable in the City presents Riding into a Sustainable Future
Have you ever sat in your car in stand-still traffic or searched tirelessly for a parking spot and thought, there must be another way? If NDOT and WeGo have anything to say about it, there is. Imagine yourself zipping along Nashville’s streets, hopping off near your destination, and not having to worry about parking. Many of us are unfamiliar with this way of moving around the city but public transportation can be safer, greener, and cheaper overall when compared to relying on cars alone. On average, Nashvillians spend 33 hours a year in traffic so let’s break down some barriers around how we get more people out of their cars and into alternative transit. Join us for a discussion with Diana Alarcon, Director of NDOT, and Stephen Bland, Chief Executive Officer of WeGo Public Transit, as we discover how our transit system is evolving and how we all can ride with sustainability in mind.
