Every President’s Day Weekend, the Annual Great Backyard Bird Count takes place, coordinated by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology and The National Audubon Society, among others. Want to take part in this nationwide citizen science effort? It’s easy! Join Education Director Carrie Szwed for a brief, family-friendly lesson on how to identify some common birds that visit our yards and feeders during winter. Then, she’ll walk you through how to officially record your observations on the eBird website. Once you’ve completed the class, you’ll be all set to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, or submit your birding observations all year long. 2pm. This free virtual program will be hosted in Zoom and simulcast on Facebook Live.
