Chronic Cough: Diagnosis to Management
Chronic cough is one of the toughest conditions we treat. It’s disruptive to daily life often preventing patients from enjoying group outings, family dinners and theatrical performances. During the pandemic the presence of a chronic cough has become even more distressing as cough is often seen as a sign of illness. In this seminar we will discuss a diagnostic algorithm, common etiologies, as well as frequently employed treatments for chronic cough. We will focus specifically on neurogenic cough, its pathophysiology and treatment approaches for this especially enigmatic condition.
