Helping Parents Help in Distance Learning
Are your teachers concerned that parents are telling their children answers? Have you supported family members in their new roles? We are in this together and will get through this together, but only if roles are clear and parents are seen as partners. Let’s help families create an environment conducive to learning, establish routines, and create habits that foster creativity, critical thinking, and increased responsibility for their learning.

Participants will:
• Explore home routines that impact learning and support teaching
• Identify roles that family members can play in supporting their children’s academic learning
• Describe the various well-being activities for social and emotional learning from a distance
• Foster mind frames that will serve child and family members well, long after the current crisis

Presenters: Doug Fisher, Ed.D. is Professor of Educational Leadership at San Diego State University in California and the co-author of Distance Learning Playbook for Parents. Nancy Frey, Ph.D. is Professor of Educational Leadership at San Diego State University in California and co-author of the "Distance Learning Playbook" for Parents.
