During this talk, she will discuss what are the most important elements in data science that most people didn't learn in school; and why a data scientist's day-to-day can be very different from what you expected; how to remain your passion while providing values to your company and get promoted faster; how to prepare for interviews more efficiently; how to become a data scientist or transition to a data science career.
About Daliana Liu:
Daliana is an experienced data scientist, currently she is building ML models for AWS customers from various industries to accelerate their business and products. She studied Mathematics during college in China, and then got her Master degree in Statistics at UC-Irvine. Currently, she is working on computer vision event detection projects and sports analytics using ML. Before she joined AWS, she worked on the A/B testing team at Amazon retail. She developed, designed, and analyzed A/B testing strategies for internal teams. She lead trainings on A/B testing and decision making for product managers and SDEs, and helped teams make product launch decisions. She has a US patent on A/B testing run time determination with her previous colleagues.
