Transition Series; Transition into EYFS Overview, expectations, concerns and considerations

The first transition point for a very young child will be at the point where they leave the safety and security of their home to start their education journey in an early years setting. Some may have experienced this first transition when they are babies or very young and they are placed in childcare to allow parents to go to work. Most will start at around the age of 3. This session will look at this first transition from home to school or from nursery into reception. Lorraine will outline some of the key information that a school setting should gather prior to the child entering Early Years Foundation Stage and the activities and support that a setting might provide to the child and their parents to make this transition as smooth as possible.
